Chemical Peels

PEELS

What are peels?

Peels are a popular and effective skincare treatment that can transform the overall appearance of your skin.  Peels have been used for decades to help correct flaws of the skin by using agents to exfoliate the surface layer of the skin.  By removing this damaged outer layer of facial skin, a new healthy, refined, smoother, and more youthful-looking skin takes its place.

All peels are medical grade through ZO Skin Health.

MeiRai Medical Aesthetics offers both light and medium depth chemical peels. If you are unsure which peel will most benefit your skin, schedule a complimentary consultation today by calling 541-440-6220.

Stimulator Peel FAQ’s

The Stimulator Peel is a light chemical peel that requires no downtime. Some people with skin sensitivities may experience slight redness and/or tightness or dryness of the skin; however, this should last no longer than 24 hours.

The Stimulator Peel is made up of a combination of lactic, citric, and salicylic acids plus potent concentrations of other active ingredients to exfoliate the skin, while stimulating collagen and elastin production.

The Stimulator Peel will gently resurface the skin by eating away at dead skin cells. It can improve hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, pore size and complexion, and acne/acne scarring.

The success of the peel should not be judged by the amount of peeling, but by the result that the peel will produce. The amount of peeling may vary depending on the individual’s skin condition at the time of the peel and the depth of the peel. Regardless of the degree of peeling, the skin is still sloughing off at an accelerated rate.

You can carry on with your day as usual since this is a no-downtime peel. This is why they call it the lunchtime peel- it’s quick, and you can even go back to work right after! Your skin will be a bit more sensitive due to the acids in the peel, so if you are going out in the sun, use a sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 50, and do not use any skin sensitizing products (such as retinol based products, acne medications, acids) for a minimum of 48 hours pre and post treatment. Also, do not receive any waxing treatments and do not use a tanning bed for a minimum of 72 hours pre and post treatment.
